Georgia Tech
Strategic Plan

We have made remarkable progress on our strategic plan since 2019.

Now, we’re entering the second half of this decade-long, ambitious plan. We are laser-focused on four Big Bets — the top four strategic priorities that we will carry across the finish line by 2030 — and a series of foundational priorities to continue building on the Institute’s growth.

Our Big Bets

These four key goals amplify Georgia Tech’s impact — in Georgia, the nation, and the world — to an even higher level:

Be a national leader in outcomes and value for all students.

Students are our top priority. We are recruiting, retaining, and developing talented students from all backgrounds, providing them with the opportunities and resources they need to succeed academically and professionally, and delivering to them the best return on investment in the nation.

Double the number of degrees granted and non-degree learners.

We are expanding our academic reach, serving more students and non-degree learners of all ages and backgrounds, and becoming the leading source of tech-savvy leaders in the nation to drive innovation and create economic opportunity.

Double the scale and amplify the impact of our research.

We are continuing our growth trajectory in research and becoming one of the largest research universities in the world, enhancing our research infrastructure, investing in fundamental and applied research to solve pressing challenges, and developing exceptional graduate and postdoctoral students to advance scientific and technological progress.

Build a national hub for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

We are working with the city, the state, and other organizations to build one of the most vibrant business and entrepreneurial neighborhoods in the nation and expanding entrepreneurship programs that support innovation from deep tech to AI, and from medicine to national security, energy and sustainability, neuroscience, creative fields, and design.

Our Foundational Priorities

Underpinning these Big Bets are four broader priorities that we continue to build on for the success of the Institute. They are foundational to our overall success and the impact we want to have by 2030.

  • Promote the well-being and protect the freedom of expression and inquiry of all people in the Georgia Tech community.
  • Build a model, sustainable campus that inspires and supports the well-being of people across the Institute and surrounding communities.
  • Improve campus services and processes to enhance the Georgia Tech experience for all.
  • Develop the full competitive potential of Georgia Tech Athletics.
